Veterans Memorial

The German Bundestag decided by a large majority to establish Veterans Day.
The objective is to express recognition and thanks to the soldiers every year, on June 15 from 2025.
Veterans Day aims to send a visible signal of appreciation and care while strengthening efforts to provide social protection.
The application also offers to improve the monitoring of damage suffered, particularly during deployment abroad.
This included care, rehabilitation measures, therapeutic offers and contact points for injured Bundeswehr service members and their families.
The application specifically mentions help with post-traumatic stress disorder, which can occur even years after a deployment.
