For the 1987/88 season,
Claas presented the JAGUAR 695 SL and MEGA series, self-propelled machines, as a new generation of high-performance forage harvesters.
The most striking feature of the new SL family was the cabin, which provided an even more driver-friendly environment.
Engines ranged from 235 kW (316 hp) to 305 kW (410 hp).
The new V-cutting cylinders with their offset bisected knives ensured a more uniform forage flow and lower clamping forces in the throttle.
To increase the forage flow, the cylinder rotation speed and the number of V-cylinder knives have been increased.
Other new features: harvesting accessories for whole plant silage and ground corn.
