For the past month, I’ve been hard at work creating a custom Farming Simulator 25 map based on my hometown, Inderøy, Norway. This project is a labor of love, aiming to capture the essence of Inderøy's breathtaking landscapes, rich history, and iconic landmarks. Known historically as "Nordens Toscana", Inderøy is celebrated for its rolling green hills, vibrant farmlands, and proximity to the fjord – a setting I’m excited to bring to life in FS25.
A Tribute to Local Heritage
This map is deeply inspired by Inderøy’s unique identity, focusing on its high-quality local farms and businesses that make it so special:
Gangstad Gårdsysteri: Producing award-winning cheeses, ice cream, and other dairy products.
Inderøy Mosteri: Famous for its fresh apple juice, cider, and other beverages.
Ystgård Gartneri: A nursery and flower shop known for its beautiful greenery and vibrant blooms.
Øyna Kulturlandskapshotell: A modern yet rustic hotel offering stunning views over the fjord.
These, along with many other local treasures, will be represented in the map, adding realism and charm to your farming experience.
Inderøy: Past and Present
Inderøy has always been a hub of culture and trade, with a history dating back to Viking times. Its strategic location near Skarnsundet and Trondheimsfjorden made it an important trading post, while its agricultural roots have contributed to generations of high-quality produce and craftsmanship. This map celebrates those roots while highlighting the idyllic beauty that earned it the nickname "Nordens Toscana."
Features in Progress
Over the past month, I’ve been working to ensure the map not only looks authentic but also offers an engaging farming experience. From lush fields and varied terrain to detailed recreations of local landmarks, this map is designed to immerse players in the heart of Inderøy.
I’m incorporating:
Dynamic terrain reflecting Inderøy’s rolling hills.
Diverse crop and farming opportunities that reflect the region’s agricultural diversity.
